17 sign changes and 3 retrograde periods
Sign changes 17
-
Mercury enters Aquarius
In the sign of Aquarius, Mercury takes on a scientific character; it is the little sage. This cycle is ideal for deepening knowledge, writing, learning, and searching for information in general.
-
Mercury enters Pisces
Mercury in Pisces is more intuitive than rational. The strength of this cycle in communication lies in the connection with our Inner Self. During this period, if we need to clarify something, we should write down the necessary points to be sure we give all the information, since Mercury in Pisces takes things for granted, believing its thoughts are being read.
-
Mercury retrograde returns to Aquarius
In the sign of Aquarius it takes on a scientific character; it is the little sage. This cycle is ideal for deepening knowledge, writing, learning, and searching for information in general.
-
Mercury enters Pisces
Mercury in Pisces is more intuitive than rational. The strength of communication during this cycle lies in the connection with our Inner Self. During this period, if we need to clarify something, write down the necessary points so we do not forget.
-
Mercury enters Aries
Mercury in Aries makes communications direct, sometimes even reckless. If it is necessary to resolve a matter that requires direct and plain communication, the cycle is perfect, but while Mercury transits this sign, avoid hasty judgments and think before pointing at someone or judging them.
-
Mercury enters Taurus
Taurus gives Mercury practical and concrete communication, stabilizes Mercury’s unstable energy, and centers its thoughts and its words. During this cycle, negotiations are well aspected, since we will talk less and accomplish more. In matters of learning, Mercury goes slowly but surely. It may take its time, but what it learns it does not forget.
-
Mercury enters Gemini
Mercury enters its own sign, which will generate a cycle suited to communicators, salespeople, educators, and all those who make communication their line of work. But it is not good for taking on important commitments, since Gemini is quick with words and we may later find ourselves trapped by contracts or agreements made too lightly.
-
Mercury in Cancer
Mercury in Cancer becomes more intuitive than rational. It is able to read nonverbal behavior, and connecting with other people through gestures, emotions or feelings comes easily. This element generates great empathy, but also greater susceptibility. It is important to discern whether the information we receive comes from our Inner Self or from our wounds.
-
Mercury returns to the sign of Gemini
Mercury enters its own sign, which will create a cycle suited to communicators, salespeople, educators and all those who make communication their line of work. But it is not good for taking on important commitments, since Gemini speaks lightly and we may later find ourselves trapped by contracts or agreements made too casually. Keep Mercury retrograde in mind.
-
Mercury returns to Cancer
When Mercury transits water signs such as Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces, it becomes more intuitive than rational. It is able to read nonverbal behavior, and connecting with other people through gestures, emotions or feelings comes easily. This element generates great sensitivity, which can lead to greater empathy, but also to greater susceptibility.
-
Mercury enters Leo
Mercury in Leo brings an imposing character to communication, which can create discomfort in the atmosphere. While this cycle lasts, it is important not to take what others say personally, for we will be quite sensitive to criticism and will try to impose our points of view.
-
Mercury enters Virgo
Virgo is one of Mercury’s homes. In this planetary position, communication becomes analytical and concrete. It likes to get to the point and knows how to benefit from what it says. A good time for handling paperwork or documents, or for salespeople and communicators; also for learning, since it leads us to find exactly what we want to know and how to apply it.
-
Mercury enters Libra
Libra gives Mercury persuasive, diplomatic communication, exercising leadership without imposition. In this cycle we will pay special attention to how things are said and seek the right words so as not to appear domineering. The desire to be on good terms with everyone can make us quite indecisive. This is an element we must watch.
-
Mercury enters Scorpio
It is said of Scorpio that it has “honey in its hands and a sting in its tongue.” This makes Scorpio's main weapon its communication. During this cycle we must take care how we say things, for the tendency is to speak so directly that we may hurt others without meaning to.
-
Mercury enters Scorpio
Scorpio has “Honey in the hands and a sting in the tongue.” This makes it direct and even hurtful in communication. In this cycle we must be careful how we say things, for we may hurt, without meaning to, the people closest to us. The adverse Pluto/Mercury aspect accentuates this tendency: Mercury does not listen to reason, becomes proud without weighing the consequences, and always believes it is right. Pluto in adverse aspect gives us an excessive pride. This tendency will be neutralized when the adverse Pluto/Mercury aspect ends.
-
Mercury enters Sagittarius
Sagittarius is a lover of norms and rules. It makes Mercury somewhat scattered, since in wanting to clarify or speak with such precision, it may end up going off on tangents and failing to follow through. During this period, it is important to write down what we want to communicate in order to have assertiveness in our communication.
-
Mercury enters Capricorn
Mercury adopts a concrete and analytical style of communication. It speaks little, but when it does, it speaks with sufficient knowledge. It enjoys specializing and improving intellectually. While it moves through this sign, Mercury's energy will help us acquire skills in the professional field.
